Public holidays declared for rescheduled election

It’s almost here again as Nigerias after a gradual recovery from a shocking news of election postponement last weekend,the federal government in an aim to aid the civil servants in finding their various local polling units have declared a nationwide public holidays for all workers

The federal government has declared Friday, February 22, 2019 as a public holiday ahead of Saturday’s rescheduled presidential and national assembly elections,

This was disclosed through a statement by the ministry of Interior on Wednesday. Bankers and those offering essential services were however, excluded.

“Federal Government declares Friday 22, February 2019 as work-free day. Those providing essential duties and bankers are excluded,”

“The work-free day is to enable citizens return to their poling units for the reschedule Presidential & National Assembly elections.

“Security agencies have been directed to ensure safety of lives & property before, during public holidays and during the general election.”
